Shippers Warehouse Breaks Ground on New, State of the Art Facility
In keeping with its commitment to outstanding customer service, Shippers Warehouse has begun construction on a 589,000 square foot facility in Hutchins, Texas. The building is strategically located in Prime Pointe, an industrial park at I-45 and East Wintergreen Road in close proximity to the Union Pacific Dallas Intermodal Terminal. Current plans include 94 dock doors and ten direct-served rail doors. The building will also have over 100,000 square feet of air conditioned space.
“We are pleased to offer a rail-served facility in one of the fastest growing industrial sites in the Dallas area,” noted CEO Ken Johnson. “The Wintergreen site will accommodate several of our customers who are expanding their footprint in the Dallas market, while also providing additional capacity for future growth,” Johnson said.
The building will also serve as the new headquarters for Shippers Express, the transportation arm of Shippers Warehouse. “The new location will afford us opportunities to better meet the transportation needs of both new and existing customers,” commented Kevin West, head of Shippers Express. A fully secured yard will have 183 trailer spaces on site.
According to Shippers COO Graham Swank, who is overseeing the project, the building should be ready for occupancy in the spring of 2016. “Our group is working closely with the facility’s design team at Duke Realty to ensure that the building will incorporate state-of-the art layout design and technology to provide the best possible service to our customers,” Swank said.
